On the 3rd and 4th of December 2020 the Lotus Project started working with Chikanga School, some 36 km outside of Blantyre in Malawi. The school is in a rural area and has a total of 500 boys and girls of all ages from 5 years upwards.
The schools in Malawi have now reopened initially for the highest groups who were taking their exams at the end of September which were delayed from June. Then gradually the remaining students will return.
We have received this video from Malawi showing the delivery of PPE and other supplies to ten (10) health clinics in Blantyre.
Our Malawi Appeal has now reached £10,600 which is an amazing achievement. Thank you to all of you who have given so generously. The money has all been sent to Malawi to help with the provision of PPE and other needs in the health care setting.
The buildings have been finished at Chisombezi school. The girls now have an additional 4 toilets, including one which disabled girls can access, 2 changing rooms, urinals and a water tank for accessing water. Click / tap here or on the picture above to read more.

We are very plesed to have heard that we are being given a grant of £2,500 from The Carmela and Ronnie Pignatelli Foundation for empowering girls and women in Malawi through the Lotus Project. It will pay for packs for 300 girls. Read more...
