Cyclone Idai has brought flooding to the southern parts of Malawi. The country started receiving heavy rains from 5 to 10 March resulting in destructive flash floods especially in the Southern Region. Some of the ladies in our groups have been affected.
On Thursday 7th March 2019, Margaret Phiri from the US Embassy visited the Lotus Project. Gift of the Givers showed their DVD, which gives an overview of their work, followed by a visual introduction of the staff in the GOTG Team.
Fairtrade Fortnight is the two weeks each year when thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to celebrate the people who grow our food, people who live in some of the poorest countries in the world and who are often exploited and badly paid.

Thank you to eveyone who supported and helped at the coffee morning at Hoole URC Church on Saturday 23 February. There was a lovely atmosphere and it was well attended. £304 was raised and it will all go to help women and girls in Malawi.
