COVID-19 Malawi Appeal raises £9,300

Just over £9,300 has now been raised so far for the COVID-19 appeal in Malawi. We are still taking donations.

£1,500 has been used to purchase 500 N95 Masks, reusable gowns, and drugs for Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  300 of these masks were donated to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (the main hospital in Blantyre), and the remaining will be given out at 7 local health clinics.

Another £1,500 has been used to purchase 1,200 surgical masks, 64 face shields, liquid soap, sanitizer, soap and disposable gloves. These will be distributed at 10 health clinics around Blantyre and to the Beit Cure Hospital where they treat the orthopedic needs of children for free and have requested for urgent help with food and PPE.  These items will be given out between 16th and 26th June. The distribution will include giving 500 cloth face coverings to patients.  These have been made by our Chanasa women's sewing groups.
